Summer News 2011

As usual, lots of interesting stuff is going on for all of us in WWW. Kathleen Hamilton will be starring in Till it Hurts at the Victoria Playhouse from July 22nd until August 7th. Take a look at the write-up and buy your tickets here. I’m really looking forward to this, Kathleen! Laurie Brinklow is back on the island. She was much missed here in Charlottetown by many people during her time in Tasmania. You can check out her blog here and learn what she has been up to. Liza and I are trying to be good bloggers too by updating our blogs every weekend. You can check out Liza’s latest “au natural” experience here. You can find my latest musing at my blog here. It’s pretty exciting that Dianne Morrow is one of the exclusive invites to the royal visit event at Dalvay By-the-Sea on Monday, July 4. We’re looking forward to hearing your stories, Dianne! Check out Dianne’s funny Islander opinion piece pre-royal visit at The Guardian.

July is a special month for booklovers – Acorn Press, in conjunction with Charlottetown’s Bookmark, is having a promotion in July. Buy 2 Acorn titles and get the third title free! Some early customers will get a tote bag as well. Read more about it here. My book of poetry, The Enchanted House, as well as Dianne Morrow’s two books (Long Reach Home and Kindred Spirits) and Orysia’s novel House of Bears are included in the promotion. Kathleen Hamilton’s Sex after Baby and Margie Carmichael’s And My Name is… are also fabulous Acorn Press titles!

Speaking of Margie, she’s going to be a musical guest at Come-All-Ye playing at the Mack this summer. Her dates are July 29th and 30th. Check is out here. Looks like a lot of fun, Margie!

Yvette recently read at Tanya Davis’s book launch  and I know she is busy with a thousand vital creative ventures this summer. As is Patti. As are all of us. Happy Summer!
