Yvette’s Poetry to Appear in New Anthology

Yvette Doucette is one of the poets included in a new anthology called The Great Black North: Contemporary African Canadian Poetry.  The launch is going to take place in Halifax next week, and Yvette will be there to participate in the reading. Details:

• When: Wednesday, February 13 at 6:30 pm
• Where: Black Cultural Centre, 1149 Main Street, Halifax
• What: The Great Black North is Edited by Valerie Mason-John and Kevan Anthony Cameron with an introduction by George Elliott Clarke and a Preface by Karina Vernon

Short Fiction from Beth & Orysia

Acorn Press is launching Riptides: New Island Fiction (edited by Richard Lemm) on July 18th. It’s pretty exciting since Orysia and I both have stories included in it. Hers is called “The Candle Party” and mine is called “Watermelon”. Come by to join the fun! Authors will be reading little bits from their stories, and it’s sure to be an eclectic mix. The launch is at The Guild and starts at 7 pm.
